If you want to share an event with your community, you have to publish the event, not published events won´t be shown at the community. 

Once you have published your event, go to your community admin panel and click on "Recommended Events" tab, write the title/name of your event and click on the magnifying glass, all the events with that title will show up. Search yours and put the cursor on, two options would appear Add / View, click on Add. 

Your users will see the recommended events on the "EVENTS" tab of your community.
